What is an Air Source Heat Pump?
Ground Source and Air Source Heat Pumps are a great source of hot water where there may not be a gas supply or where expensive immersion heater or electric boilers are the main source of hot water.
Unlike conventional water heaters that create heat from power, heat pumps transfer heat to deliver hot water 3 or 4 times more efficiently. The air source heat pump pulls warmth from the air and compresses particles increasing their temperature. A condenser coil then transfers the heat from the compressed air to water providing hot water to the property. Ground source heat pumps uses heat from under the ground, or from a water source, which is then increased via heat transfer fluid through the compressor to provide hot water. To install both technologies installers, need to be FGAS qualified to handle the refrigerant units and MCS accredited to provide warranty backed certification for signed off schemes.
Why install an Air Source Heat Pump?
Air Source Heat Pumps, or ASHP systems, have many advantages. Heat pumps help provide a low carbon footprint as they are an energy efficient technology. They can also be used in junction with Solar PV instead of electricity, saving you both money and energy.
Not many other renewable technologies do both heating and hot water, air source heat pumps are an all-in-one solution meaning no need to invest in two separate systems, saving time and money. Unlike ground source heat pumps which can be intrusive for both installation and repair as it requires digging up the ground outside the property, air source heat pumps are a simple outdoor unit which is as quick and easy to install as well as maintain.
Why maintain an Air Source Heat Pump?
Ensures your system complies with RHI requirements and manufacturers warranty (if applicable)
Running costs will be kept to a minimum and generate the maximum amount of renewable heat system having a longer life span
Premium service levels
Ensures that the ASHP is operating at maximum efficiency
Offers complete reassurance
We believe that when choosing an Air Source Heat Pump system, it is not just the quality of installation that should be considered. It should also be their handover and aftercare service, because when investing in an ASHP you want to guarantee it’s lifetime. Which is why here at Ecolution, after every installation, our team runs through a system demonstration as well as provide complete Operation and Maintenance packs for each system which include all the systems details along with information on the best operation, maintenance and upgrade options available.
