Monitoring and Maintenance Contract with Birmingham City University.

Ecolution Energy Services have recently taken on a brand-new contract with Birmingham City University to monitor and maintain their Solar PV system.

This Solar PV system was installed by our installation company Ecolution Renewables on the University’s brand-new Curzon Building to help them achieve a BREEAM ‘excellent’ rating and EPC rating. However, as with any renewable energy system, there are requirements for annual servicing and maintenance to ensure the systems are working and meeting current regulatory standards.

Due to our excellent installation service, we were contacted by NG Bailey the Universities facilities services contractor to continue working together by signing up to our remote monitoring and reactive maintenance package.

Our smart remote monitoring package allows us to not only take remote meter readings but also track the performance of the system from our head office in Kent enabling us to pick up on any issues as they happen which would otherwise go unnoticed, minimising any losses.

With our sophisticated system enabling us to do all of this remotely, it is not only more efficient but also more environmentally friendly as there I no need to unnecessary, costly and time consuming visits which would otherwise interrupt the Universities day-to-day operation. They also have access to our bespoke portal where they can see live generation and savings data.

Birmingham City University are also signed up to our reactive maintenance package which works hand in hand with our monitoring service meaning as soon as an issue is flagged via the portal we are able to proactively send one of our engineers to site to fix the issue as soon as possible, minimising any losses.

Finally, as part of their contract Birmingham City University benefit from having an annual Maintenance where one of our qualified and experienced engineers will attend to carry out their works.
