Juxton and Sail Street

52.84 kWp Solar PV systems installed across 70 apartment block in Lambeth, London.

Ecolution provided the complete electrical and solar photovoltaic installation package for 70 apartments across 2 blocks at Juxton and Sail Street situated on the China Walk Estate in Lambeth, London.

This development was a modular build constructed in Birmingham, with each apartment reflecting the contractor’s award winning design specification, making the best use of all available space. These five story contemporary architectural style apartment blocks have striking facade lighting with communal roof terrace spaces creating a mini oasis of calm. There are a mixture of one and two-bedroom apartments, as well as two wheelchair accessible flats.

Our dedicated in-house electrical team worked closely with the builders from the initial site surveying, through to design, supply, and installation. We supplied a complete electrical package from initial site temps as well as 1st and 2nd fix through to final testing and commissioning. A high-quality comprehensive security system was installed including door entry and CCTV along with security code cycle storage spaces. We also installed everything from fire, AOV and IRS across all three blocks. Well-designed lighting as a key focus point for this project as four different types of Italian integrated lighting cleverly illuminates every corner of the home which we were able to easily source and fit these specialist lights.

These homes are aimed at first time buyers who are either are priced out of most private housing and ‘salaried out’ of social housing.
Sustainability and affordable housing were, therefore, a key driver for this project as it was not only important that they were able to afford to buy the property but that they could also afford to live there in the long term which is why Solar PV was chosen. It allows the residents of the block to benefit from the FREE electricity produced by the solar PV system which helps reduce their energy bills for years to come.

We installed a total of 52.84 kW of solar photovoltaics across Juxton and Sail Street using both 290W monocrystalline and 250W polycrystalline panels on a flat roof mounting system. These are now collectively producing on average 47,344.64 kWh of FREE electricity and offsetting 25,045.314 kg of C0₂ emissions each year. Being awarded both the electrical and PV packages ensured smooth installation and coordination both on and off site.

We installed smart metering for both the electrical utilities and solar PV system meaning they are ready and set up for comprehensive remote monitoring and maintenance capabilities.
