Monitoring and Maintenance contract for Asra Housing Association in North London.

Ecolution won the electrical contract, solar photovoltaic installation and remote monitoring and maintenance contracts for Neasden Lane with Buglar developments and Asra Housing Association, in North London.

For 30 years Buglar have been established within the construction market, providing high-quality affordable housing in London and the South East. They aim to deliver sustainable, high-quality developments that enhance the neighbourhood and deliver positive benefits to the community. As new build developers, they are committed to meeting the code for sustainable homes, Neasden Lane contained a renewable aspect which is why when choosing subcontractors for the site it was beneficial to have one company like Ecolution to handle the all of the electrical, renewable and aftercare aspects.

Ecolution electrical contracting team worked closely with Buglar from initial site surveying through to the design, supply, and installation of both the internal and external electrics. Our complete electrical package included site temps both 1st and 2nd fix through to the final testing and commissioning for this new residential block of apartments. We installed everything from the lighting, switches, power sockets and aerial points etc in the 9 apartments within this 3 storey block. We also installed emergency lighting, IRS and AOV systems for the communal areas including the outside lighting.

Our aim was to ensure that the materials and assets of the building were being utilised which is why we chose to installed energy efficient lighting throughout the block to maximise the benefits from the solar PV system for the residents of the block increasing their energy savings for years to come.


On competition of the project, a comprehensive handover was completed with the end clients and again once the residents had moved in including demonstrations.

The renewable aspect of the block was of high importance for Asra Housing Association as reduced energy bills are highly beneficial for their low-income residents as it helps towards illuminating fuel poverty. Ecolution installed a 5.25 kWp solar photovoltaic system which is now producing 4,462.50 kWh of free electricity for the residents each year and collectively reduces their carbon footprint with C0₂ savings of 2,360.66 kg per annum.

Our aftercare team now provide maintenance for the block including looking after the defects periods and remote monitoring for the solar PV system. With the added benefit of our distribution arm, we are able to repair faults and handle replacements easily and within a timely manner.
