Kender Phase 4

135 kWp Solar PV system installed across multiple properties in Greater London.

In July 2015 Ecolution installed a total of 135 kWp Solar output across multiple properties for contractor Osborne and Hyde Housing, in New Cross Gate, Greater London.

For this social housing development, we designed a variety of systems using a range of high quality products to best suit each type of building. Across the board we used Hanwa 250W polycrystalline Solar panels and K2 framing systems. For individual homes we used micro-inverters including Enphase and Renesola and for the larger arrays on the blocks of flats we used a range of Growatt and Powerone string inverters.

Ecolution were approached by Geoffrey Osbourne, a design and build contractor, before winning the project, seeking our company’s knowledge and experience with solar PV systems. We assisted with product recommendations and system designs to ensure in advance that everything would fit as intended.
During installation we were required to do a quick re-design for one of the blocks of flats. It was originally specified with a three phase inverter however when arriving on site it was apparent that there was only a single phase input into the block. Despite this minor hitch we turned around the redesign and restrung the system still ahead of schedule.

The high standard of preparation for Kender phase 4, lead to all Solar PV installations running smoothly and were all completed ahead of schedule. This wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t also for the excellent site management which ensured all equipment required was available on time, with no delays or issues arising.

This great installation is now producing 114,750 kWh of free electricity per year for social housing tenants. It also has C0₂ savings of 60,700 kg per annum. Ecolution installed smart metering which gives half hourly generation data and diagnostic information via any web browser.
