38 kWp Solar PV system installed across a block of flats in Essex.
In July 2015 Ecolution installed a 38 kWp solar photovoltaic system on a block of flats for design and build contractors and Estuary Housing Association, in Romford, Essex.
Roneo Corner is situated just 10 minutes from the town centre and train station meaning quick commuting to London and further afield. There are a total of 93 apartments, ranging from 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms, 37 of which are available as part of a shared ownership scheme. This scheme gives tenants who can’t afford to buy a place of their own straight away, the opportunity to purchase a share of the apartment and rent the percentage they don’t own. If they choose to, they can then purchase more shares as and when they can afford it.
Affordable homes was the main focus for these new build apartments, which not only meant minimising the building costs of the block, but also that they were affordable in the long term, for Estuary Housings low income tenants to live in. This is why Solar PV was chosen as it provides residents of Roneo Corner with free electricity during the day which reduces their energy bills for years to come.
For this installation Ecolution used Upsolar 250W polycrystalline panels, Goodwe DT inverters and K2 on roof mounting system.
The Solar PV system at Roneo Corner is now producing 32,300 kWh of free electricity per year for social housing tenants. It also has C0₂ savings of 17,086.70 kg per annum.
Ecolution installed smart metering which gives half-hourly generation data and diagnostic information via any web browser. This software means that any maintenance needed on the system is flagged up to Ecolution immediately, enabling us to resolve issues as soon as they arise, minimising any losses.
