Vimy Road

10 kWp Solar PV system installed across multiple properties in Bedfordshire.

Ecolution won the electrical contract, solar photovoltaic installation and remote monitoring and maintenance contracts for Vimy road with contractor’s W E Black Ltd, in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. Being established developers’ W E Black have high standards when it comes to the quality of their new developments. It was important when choosing contractors for Vimy Road that they had the same values, with the experience and expertise to back this up. We were privileged to win all three contracts making it easier for W E Black as there was one contractor handling all three aspects.

Ecolutions electrical contracting team worked closely with W E Black from initial site surveying through to the design, supply, and installation of both the internal and external electrics. We provided a complete electrical package for both 1st and 2nd fix through to the final testing and commissioning for this new residential block of flats. We installed everything from the lighting, aerial points, switches, sockets, and power points etc. within the 20 apartments. We also installed the emergency lighting, IRS and AOV systems for the communal areas, as well as the outside street lighting and bollards.

At Ecolution, we pride ourselves on our experience and expertise within the construction market, that is why when we produce designs for either the electrical or renewable contracts we make sure we are utilising materials and the assets of the building. With Vimy Road having a renewable aspect to the property it was our aim to maximise the benefits of the solar PV system for the residents of the block. With quality, the environment, and long-term energy savings in mind, we installed energy efficient lighting throughout the building meaning residents can better utilise the free electricity generated from the solar PV and therefore maximising their energy savings for years to come.

This was a demanding project as we had a quick turnaround time for completion but with our dedicated team working around the clock this was met within W E Blacks expectations. Once the project was finalised a comprehensive handover was completed with the end clients including demonstrations and a second once the residents had moved in.

Ecolution installed a 10 kWp solar photovoltaic system on this privately rent block of flats. This solar photovoltaic system is now producing 8,500 kWh of free electricity per year for the residents and is helping them to collectively reduce their carbon footprint with C0₂ savings of 4,496.50 kg per annum.

Ecolutions Energy Services team installed smart meter solutions which provide half-hourly generation data and diagnostic information to ensure that the solar system is always performing as they should. If for any reason it is not then this will be flagged to us as soon as it occurs, meaning we can reactively rectify the issue, minimising any losses.
