What is mechanical ventilation heat recovery?
Mechanical ventilation heat recovery systems (MVHR) are a whole home ventilation system that both supplies and extracts air throughout the property. It extracts warm, damp air from the home and draws in fresh air from outside. The warm air extracted is passed through a heat exchanger to recovery the heat before being released outside. The cool air extracted from outside is also passed through the same heat exchanger where it is heated up and then pumped into the property. When the air from inside and the air from outside the property pass through the heat exchanger they do not come into contact.
The mechanical ventilation heat recovery systems themselves comprise of a single heat exchanger unit usually situated in the loft or another void of the property and a network of ducting inside the walls and ceilings within the property.
Benefits of mechanical ventilation heat recovery?
Reduce your energy bills - You will reduce your heating bills as the fresh air is pre-warmed meaning heat loss from ventilation is largely avoided.
Removes condensation and pollutants - Mechanical ventilation heat recovery means fresh filtered air being supplied into your property and any damp and pollutant air is removed from the property reducing the risk of damp and mould as well as being ideal for allergy sufferers and individuals with asthma.
Reduce your carbon footprint and help save the environment - Mechanical ventilation heat recovery produces renewable energy, meaning it doesn’t produce any harmful pollution. This technology is a way that each property can help towards protecting the environment and tackling climate change by utilising natural sustainable resources.
Mechanical ventilation heat recovery maintenance services
Most manufacturer’s warranties are only upheld if your renewable technology is regularly maintained, which is why it is important to ensure your mechanical ventilation heat recovery system is serviced frequently by qualified engineers. This will not only guarantee your systems performance throughout the year and prolong the life time of the technology but it will also save you money on repairs as most parts are covered by warranty for approximately 5 to 10 years.
We provide both planned maintenance as well as operations and maintenance (O&M) contracts for MVHR systems. As part of these packages one of our qualified and experienced engineers will attend your property to carry out a thorough annual service of your mechanical ventilation heat recovery system. We will also attend your property for any re-active / emergency repairs.
We not only provide re-active call outs for our clients signed up to our maintenance contracts but will also attend emergency repairs for none clients as well.
