The Road to Clean Energy & How Regular Maintenance Can Help?

All around the world, sustainable energy transitions are underway, but how far have we progressed? It’s clear that action needs to be accelerated but trying to determine what areas are a priority is slowing us down from meeting our goals.

This year countries around the world are undertaking an important exercise to assess global progress towards achieving the goals laid out in the Paris Agreement. This exercise is intended to help inform and raise commitments made by countries to tackle climate change.

WHERE WE ARE

The IEA estimates that in 2017, energy-related CO2 emissions rose 1.4% after remaining flat for three years, reaching a historic high of 32.5 Gt indicating that the stall in emissions from 2014-2016 does not yet reflect a peak.

Though the 2017 emissions rise is moderate compared to historical rates, it highlights the already monumental challenge ahead. IEA analysis shows that emissions must peak around 2020 then show a steep decline afterwards to meet Paris Agreement goals.

This increase in emissions reflects strong underlying growth in energy demand, which grew an estimated 2.1% in 2017 double the rate of increase in 2016. As well as this the carbon intensity of energy supply increase for the first time in three years as fossil fuels met over 70% of the growth in energy demand.

WHAT WE CAN DO

As countries drive forward their ambition towards green growth, the implementation of maintenance care for your renewable systems can be a huge factor in driving forward to clean energy.

Bad servicing and improper maintenance is the most common reason why renewable systems don’t last. Even though Solar PV systems are incredibly durable and require very little maintenance work, they still need to be checked and monitored to ensure they are working to their optimal capacity and to ensure they are giving you the correct return on your investment.

Regular maintenance will not only extend a solar PV’s lifetime but it will also maximise generation and energy efficiency. For this reason, we provide renewable technology planned maintenance including annual servicing to re-active callouts and repairs for all renewable energy systems.

Here at Ecolution, our remote monitoring package ensures that your system is safe, clean and producing the maximum energy generation, so if you have a renewable system that requires maintenance care then get in touch with our dedicated maintenance team today to talk through your options and our team will be happy to help!
